Seems like it's been forever since I've played in the challenges, so today I killed two birds with one stone... or combined two challenges in one card. When I saw the ways to use it challenge, I knew I wanted to try die cutting a soda can. I also used this week's sketch challenge. After cutting open a Mountain Dew can and flattening it, I used alcohol inks for polished stone on the inside of the can and then ran it through my cuttlebug with a nestabilities bird die. The wing is made with the smallest die from dp, but I cut off the beak. I used a piercing tool to make a hole for the brad and button holes.

How clever is this! I didn't know you could run soda cans through the die cutting machines. This is really cute. Your bird is darling, great colors and details. Beautiful.

You can count yourself in for Going Green for recycling! What a fab job on the bird!! That technique came out great!!!!

I absolutely love this! You and I were thinking alike today by using soda cans. Recycle!!! I love what you did to give the bird color. I'm sure it's a knock out IRL. The embossing in the background give such great texture. This is a real winner! TFS
